Что значит жизнь фронтмена Lp Честера Беннингтона? Он собственной персоной отвечает на ваши вопросы.
Честер Беннингтон  вышел из репетиционной студии и щурит глаза от яркого  солнечного света. Он надевает солнечные очки, гордо замечая, что они стоили ему всего 20 баксов на бензоколонке, потом возвращается в помещение, улыбка сияет на губах. Сегодня Linkin Park первый раз за пару месяцев играют вместе, взяв перерыв перед гастролями текущего 3го альбома Minutes to Midnight. Обычно первое что они говорят это : "Я правда не хотел беспокоить тебя." Но при этом они имеют в виду: " Но я все равно это сделаю в любом случае." В любом случае нам действительно повезло что мы знамениты, но мы не знаменитости( =D видимо имеется в виду к которым без конца липнут папарацци).
Наши фанаты очень уважают нас, и я никогда не подвергался бомбандировке папарацци и орды людей. Нас очень любят. Очень приятно быть певцом в успешной рок-группе. Я обзваниваю рестораны и узнаю что они уже заполнены. И как не стыдно через пять минут я перезваниваю, и говорю "Я звоню от имени Честера Беннингтона из linkin park". И мне тут же говорят: "Шикарно, сколько бы человек вы хотели привести? Я уверен у нас найдется столик." Это очень здорово."

В:"Честер, какого это иметь навязчивого фаната, который преследует тебя и проник в твой email ящик?"

О:"Это оборотная сторона славы. Это жутко, что человек думал, что то, что он делал нормально, т.к. на самом деле это ужасно. Она думала, что она просто фанат, когда вскрывала мой почтовый ящик и контролировала мои данные. Сейчас ей предстоит отсидеть 2 года в федеральной тюрьме, и это не круто. Она просто не понимала, что переступила черту. Вся эта история пугает. Я достаточно доверяю людям и пытаюсь думать, что все хорошие, но такие ситуации заставляют вновь задуматься. Это неприятно обнаружить, что у совершенно незнакомого человека есть номера телефонов всех членов твоей семьи, телефоны твоих бизнесс-партнёров и доступ к любой персональной информации".

В:"Честер, ты открыто говоришь о трудных временах, через которых тебе пришлось пройти в детстве. Говоря о таких вещах и зная, что помогаешь молодым людям, оказавшимся в схожей ситуации, помогло ли всё это тебе оставить своё прошлое позади?"

:"Поначалу мне не хотелось рассказывать о том, что происходило со мной, потому что боялся того, что подумают люди. Но разговоры об этом помогли лучше разобраться в себе как в личности. Я говорю об этом и со своими детьми, и с другими детьми, и в журналах. Надеюсь это поможет людям в той же ситуации рассказать об этом другим . Это очень важно.
Я не знаю, помогаю ли я непосредствено людям но, если да, то я рад".

В:"Ходили слухи, что ты оставляешь LP, чтоб стать фронтменом Velvet Revolver. Правда это или нет?"

О:" Я дружу со всеми парнями из Velvet Revolver и играл с ними раньше. Я также дружу со Скоттом. Я думаю слухи о моём переходе начались после того, как Слэш попросил меня прийти сыграть с ними на шоу в Лас-Вегасе сразу после того, как Скотт покинул группу. Может быть люди думают, что приглашение значило, что я собираюсь к ним присоединиться. Но ябы так не сделал, т.к. дружу со всеми ними, включая Скотта. Если бы я собирался сделать с ними 1 шоу или записать одну песню, я бы посоветовался со своей группой, со всеми теми парнями и со Скоттом тоже. Если бы я не был в LP и я бы не знал Скотта, я бы сказал"да". А кто б не согласился? Музыка великолепна, и это была бы очень хорошая возможность".

Если ты думаешь, что проводить время в стрип-клубах до 5 утра - это весело, то... Да, я делал всё это, и это было весело, но я считаю, что уже вырос из этого. Мы весёлые, мы знаем, как не вести себя слишком серьёзно и мы много дурачимся. Может быть, люди думают, что мы серьёзные, потому что всё, что мы делаем. воспринимаем оченьсерьёзно."

В:"Когда ты в последний раз дрался с Майком и почему?"

О:"Я не думаю, чтомы когда-либо дрались с Майком. Мы с ним даже никогда реально не ссорились. Мы все хорошо ладим.
Когда я пил, то рядом со мной явно было не весело, хотя я был убеждён в обратном. Вместо ссор парни просто старались избегать меня. В конце концов, всё, что меня удручало, было , в любом случае, моей собственной виной. Я раздражался кричал, что-то типа:"Кто размазал пуддинг по моему лицу, когда я спал? Вы все сволочи!" Потом, 6 месяцев спустя я вспомнил, что, когда был пьяным, сам купил этот пуддинг. Когда я его ел, то был полностью в бессознательном состоянии. Так что, ребята, извините."

В:" Ты женат на бывшей моделе Playboy'я. Значит ли это, что ты можешь посещать особняк Playboy?"

"It was the fans who prompted us to bring it to the UK. We've done it in the US for the last years and a lot of fans asked why we weren't doing it anywhere else. It's one thing to have one or two kids ask, but when we were getting lots of kids coming up with the same question. If people ask loud enough and long enough, they tend to get heard and that's what happened. It's going to be even bigger and better in the UK too. It'll be nice to hook up with Jay-Z again, as well.
He's a great guy but we've never done a formal tour together, so that will be fun."

What's the biggest misconception about Linkin Park? - Helen via Kerrang.com

"Hmmm, I'm not sure. I think there used to be a lot of misconceptions about Linkin Park but it doesn't happen so much now. Do people think we are to serious? I don't know. Sometimes they think we're too nice but I promise that we do have an edge. Another misconception is that people think we don't play live. That bothers me because we really pride ourselves on our live show. I can assure you that we do play live."

If you were to switch bodies with Mike Shinoda for a day, what things would you get up to? - Joe, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne

"Mike is one of the most talented people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is a genius. I'd like to be Mike in his studio for a day and work out how he does his thing so well. He's so creative, so I'd steal some of his ideas and freak him out the next day. I'd be like, 'You know that song you were thinking about? Here it is. Oh, and that painting you were thinking of doing? I already did that too'."

What are the best bits and worst bits of fame? - Rebecca, Leeds

"There are a lot of great parts about it. It's cool that people are excited to see me when I'm out and about. Although, it does bother me when people come up to me when I'm eating. Usually the first thing they say is, 'I don't mean to bother you', when what they really mean is, 'But I'm going to anyway...'. However, we're really fortunate that we're famous but we're not celebrities. Our fans are very respectful too, most of the time, and I never get bombarded by paparazzi or hordes of people. We get a lot of love. One nice thing about being the singer in a successful rock band, is that I do get to pull out the rock star card every now and again. I've phoned up restaurants and been told that they are full before. As ashamed as I am to say, I've definitely phoned them back five minutes later and said, 'I'm calling for Chester Bennington from Linkin Park'. They go, 'Awesome, how many people do you want to bring? We'll make sure you have a table'. That's quote nice!"

Chester, how did it feel having an obsessed fan stalk you and hack into your email account? - Tamara Mackie, Fife Scotland

"Well, that's the downside of fame. What was weird was that that person thought what they did was okay when it was very uncomfortable. She thought she was just being a fan when she hacked into m email account and stole my identity. She's now doing two years in federal prison and that's not cool. She just didn't understand that there was a line that she crossed. The whole experience was very scary. I put a lot of trust in people and try to think everyone is good but this is the sort of experience that makes you think again. It's not a good feeling when you find out a complete stranger has all of your family's phone numbers, your business associates' phone numbers and has been privy to all sorts of personal information."

Chester, you've spoken openly about the difficult times you went through while you were growing up. Has speaking about things, knowing that you're helping young people in similar situations helped you to put your past behind you? - Lisa, Bournemouth

"At first I didn't want to talk about what happened to me when I was growing up because I was afraid of what people might think. But, by talking about it, it's really helped me figure myself out as a person. I've talked to my kids about it, to other kids and in magazines. Hopefully that helps other people in the same situation tell others about it. In most cases, a lot of these things happen inside families and that's hard because the victim often doesn't want to break up their family. But there's a chance the person is also doing it to other people and that needs to be stopped. It's very important to talk about it. I don't know that I've necessarily helped people but, if I have, then I'm glad."

It's been rumored that you're leaving Linkin Park to front Velvet Revolver. True or false? -Paul via Kerrang.com

"I'm friends with all the guys in Velvet Revolver and have played with all of them before. I'm friends with Scott Weiland too. I think the rumour that I was going to join Velvet Revolver started because Slash asked me if I'd come play a show with them in Vegas right around the time that Scott left the band. Timing-wise, it didn't work out for me though. Maybe people assumed that invitation meant I was joining the band. It would be very uncomfortable for me to join that band because I'm friends with all of them, including Scott. If I was even going to do just one show, or record just one song with them, I'd have to know it was okay with my band, all those guys and Scott too. If I wasn't in Linkin Park anymore and I didn't know Scott, though, I'd say yes. Who wouldn't? The music is great and it would be a really cool opportunity."

ENERGY: “We made it” is your current single and its with Busta Rythmes. Can you tell us something about it?
Chester: Yeah we met him when we did Hybrid Theory. We were new in the business and we were excited to meet persons who were really importnant. And we met Busta and through the years we are friends. I met him at the Transformers Premier in Los Angeles and he came to me and said: “We have to do something together”.
And I was like Yeah and after 6 months we had a track and Mike and I listened to it and we both were excited. Everyone knew that its gonna be a great track and it had to be one.
We recorded our part in Taipei. And the song came out very well.

ENERGY: Can you tell me some moments when you thought “we made it”?
Chester: Well when we were at our first tour. You know being on the road with your band and have been signed.
ENERGY: Are there any other stars you want to work with?
Chester: I think I worked with the people I wanted to work with. Slash is doing a new record and he asked me wether I want to do something and maybe we will do something together. He is really cool and we are friends. It would be something special for me.
ENERGY: LIATR is you new single. What is it about?
Chester: Well everyone has his own interpretation. Mike didnt want to tell me what he thought when he wrote the song. So when I hear the song its about being at the end of the road, at the end of the life or at the end of a relationship. And you want to remember on the good and on the bad things which happened. Its a little bit more deep.

ENERGY: Are you working on a new album?
Chester: We are wroking on new music. I think we have to write about 300 songs until we finally can chose the right ones. But everything is going on well and I think that there will be a new record next year.
ENERGY: Is there any song which you wish you wrote it? Maybe a famous one?
Chester: There are a lot of songs. Classic Girl or all songs from Depech Mode. I would like to know how it would be to be in the band for example Depech Mode or The Cure. I just know how it is to be in Linkin Park. But there are a lot of great bands out there.

ENERGY: i always wanted to ask you that question. Doesnt it hurt to sing, scream like you always do. Singing that loud?
Chester: You know. Im getting older and Im asking myself: What are you doing to yourself?
My knees arent that what they used to be....also my kondition. But my voice is getting better. There is a wrong and a good way to use your voice. You feel it when you did it in the wrong way.

Looks like Chester Bennington from Linkin Park was kicking it with Ryan Shuck from Orgy at last night’s 10 p.m. performance of The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil over at the Mirage. As per usual, the rock stars got VIP treatment, ducking backstage after the show to meet the cast and smile for the camera.

But then it occurred to me: What the hell ever happened to Orgy? Is it even accurate to say “Ryan Shuck from Orgy” if the band no longer exists? Well, I did the ol’ WikiPedia dig and sure enough, the band is not finished, but rather “taking some time off to do independent projects.” Apparently, 2008 might be the year that the death rockers return to the limelight. Oh, and Shuck’s connection to Bennington? The Orgy guitarist — along with fellow Orgy six-stringer Amir Derakh — are working with the Linkin Park singer on a side project, Dead by Sunrise.*

Linkin Park fans are more rabid than American Idol fans

Regular visitors to this ramblethon will recall the inundation of VEGASinsight by dueling American Idol fans -- specifically, the forces on either side of the apparent Daughtry-Taylor Hicks war.

Well, they have nothing on Linkin Park fans.

Yesterday, I posted a single picture and a few words of text about LP singer Chester Bennington's visit to The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil with musical collaborator and Orgy guitarist Ryan Shuck. Well, about every single LP fan site in the free (and less free) world linked to it, and as of just 8 a.m., it's spiked VEGASinsight's average daily traffic by about 1000 percent. Bennington's fans a) seem to be fully in love with him and b) were gracious even when correcting my information about his "solo project" (which, they note, is a "side project" with Shuck ... but many other news reports have also referred to it as a "solo" project, so thpppt).

Good thing I didn't post this other picture, huh? They'd be doubly rabid!!

On the eve of the launch of the fifth Projekt Revolution — the multi-genre tour founded by Linkin Park in 2002 — Rolling Stone checked in with two of its headliners, LP's Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell. The pair of famous frontmen chatted about the greatest rock singers and classic Lollapalooza fests.

How does being around all these different artists on the Projekt Revolution tour inspire you?
Chris Cornell: Being on tour can sometimes be less complicated than being at home because your day is regimented. You wake up in the morning, you warm up, you do a soundcheck, you play your show, you sleep or get on the bus — every single day is like that. There's someone putting a sheet of paper under your door telling you what time you're gonna do what. But a festival tour like this is very different. It's much less predictable and a lot of different things can happen. And seeing other bands perform for me changes my whole mood in terms of what I end up bringing onstage. I've often watched live performance footage from any band before I go onstage just 'cause it gets me in that mindset.
Chester Bennington: What I like about doing a touring festival, especially Projekt Rev, is the fact these are bands that I can get really excited about since I'm part of the reason they're there. For me, last Projekt Revolution was probably the best touring experience I've ever had. For me to be able to bring out Mindless Self Indulgence — a band that I've always liked and I've felt that they've never really gotten the love that they deserve — to see them show up and play with another band like Saosin and 5,000 kids are showing up at noon, just like, "Yes, it's happening." And I felt really proud that they got to do that and that Gerard [Way, of My Chemical Romance] and Lyn-Z [Mindless Self Indulgence bassist Lindsey Ballato] reignited their friendship and then ended up getting married backstage on the last show. I was like, "This is freaking awesome." When we did Ozzfest I couldn't go to the main stage because I had the wrong pass. I felt like I was segregated from everybody else. The main stage guys were in their superstar land and it was just like, "I don't feel comfortable here." Everyone needs to feel respected and everyone needs to be able to go wherever they wanna go and do whatever they wanna do.

Chris, going back to what you said, how does seeing live music affect the way you approach playing?
Cornell: Energy and enthusiasm, those are the things that I'm talking about. To stand up in front of thousands of people and perform whatever way it is, whether it's in a rock band or a string quartet, it's an intense thing to do. As soon as I see it, it's like I immediately absorb it. The other way to do it is sit in a room by yourself and then you go out and suddenly stand in front of a bunch of people for the first time. At Lollapalooza '92 I would go into the pit, put my hair in a hat, and watch Ministry and try to see if I could jump over the security guards and stage dive and really get into being a fan.
Bennington: That was a great tour [laughs].
Cornell: That was also very diverse and seeing all those bands in one day I could see it sort of changing everybody. But the enthusiasm, the passion for doing it is what I connect with immediately just by seeing it happening in front of me. When we toured Australia, Chester broke his wrist on like, the third song and then finished the whole set with a broken wrist. That kind of dedication and passion, like, "This is what I'm doing, this is the most important thing there is, I'm onstage right now." That affects me.

You guys are regarded as two of the greatest voices in rock. How much will you be watching what the other is doing onstage?
Bennington: For me, I'm such a fan I think that's the most important aspect of why I do what I do and how I do it. I've got to play with a lot of guys that I've grown up loving; I get to sing on stage with Chris Cornell, I got to play with Metallica and Black Sabbath, and I've performed songs with Jane's Addiction, members of Guns n' Roses, did the Doors 40th anniversary with the Doors and Perry Farrell onstage — I'm just like, "What world do I live in, 'cause this can't be real?" And I love watching other guys play and I love being pushed mentally to try to do my best. It made me really uncomfortable when Donovan Leitch [at a Camp Freddy show], said [I have] "The best voice in rock & roll." I was just like, "Ugh," and Steven Tyler walks onstage and in my opinion he has one of the best voices ever.
Cornell: Yeah, there's no quantifying. It's weird to even think that way. I'm sure the best singer in the world, nobody knows who that is. He's somewhere, or she's somewhere, and they're out there. I get blown away by singers all the time and almost feel embarrassed that I would be referred to or regarded as one of the best singers in rock ever.

What's one of the best shows you've ever seen?
Bennington: I'll never forget this show, I saw Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers, in my opinion, all on their best records. You had Pearl Jam out with Ten — the band was great, they've got two of the shreddingest guitar players alive, and they were just killing it. And then Nirvana came out, and it was so different, so new and so fresh, it felt like when I discovered Jane's Addiction. I felt like the Chili Peppers didn't say, "Okay, you guys can't blow things up because we're gonna blow things up. And just have Pearl Jam do basic lights." Everybody got to do what they wanted to do and I think that, for me, was the reason why it was so special. No one freaked out when Eddie Vedder ran across the arena and was climbing up the wall and singing while swinging from the lighting fixtures over his band. I was like, "He's gonna fucking kill everybody." But it was really great. And then for Kurt Cobain to come out and destroy his set and to feel that pure raw passion and then the Chili Peppers are one of the best bands ever. It was a really memorable thing and I remember being like, "I wanna do that. I want to be part of something like that." And going back to Lollapalooza, there was Ice Cube, Ministry and you guys [Soundgarden], it was like, "What is happening right now 'cause this doesn't normally happen?" And that kind of inspired me and I think it inspired all the guys in my band 'cause we were like, "How can we take all this stuff and put it in one thing? And how can we take all of our inspiration and all of our passion for all these other bands and bring that out on a tour?"

Linkin Park And Chris Cornell Jam At 'projekt Revolution' Opener

Linkin Park's latest Projekt Revolution tour kicked off on Wednesday night (July 16th) in Boston with a number of highlights, including Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington and former Soundgarden and Audioslave singer Chris Cornell teaming up for a performance of Temple of the Dog's "Hunger Strike" during Cornell's set. The vocalist returned the favor later by appearing onstage during Linkin Park's show for a run through the band's 2001 hit "Crawling."

Bennington said during a recent meeting with reporters that Linkin Park enjoys getting as many of the tour's acts as possible to collaborate onstage: "All the bands are always -- like, we, last year, we invited everybody up to do 'One Step Closer'with us, but I don't think anybody came out. I think they were having too much fun hanging out doing something backstage (laughs). But, you know, we always, on these Projekt Rev things we always try to get everybody involved."

Rounding out the Revolution lineup are Ashes Divide, the Bravery, Atreyu, Hawthorne Heights, 10 Years, Armor for Sleep, Busta Rhymes and Street Drum Corps.

As with earlier Linkin Park tours, one dollar from each ticket sold will go to the group's charity foundation, Music For Relief, to support disaster relief and reduce global warming.

Projekt Revolution is on the road through August 24th, when it wraps up in Houston. The tour stops on Friday (July 18th) in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.
