Club Tattoo's Chester Bennington Interview - Part 3

http://etnies.com/site-images/news/article/chester-vecel-500.jpg

An interview with Chester Bennington of Club Tattoo (Cont'd from Part 2)

RB: How old is your, is it son, you have a son?

CB: Yeah, I have four boys.

RB: Four boys.

CB: Got a litter of kids!

RB: What’s the oldest, and the youngest?

CB: My oldest is 11, and his brother is gonna be 10 in November. And I have a 5-year-old, and my youngest just turned one, a couple weeks ago.

RB: So throughout all this, like the music career, the rock star, the everything, how does fatherhood affect that, as far as whether it be creating music or . . .

CB: No I think I’ve really figured it out. I figured it out that I wasn’t always the best dad, you know what I mean? My kids love me, I love my kids, but the reality is that my career always took front seat for a long time. And so I really kind of figured it out, like how to balance being a dad and running a company, and trying to create new companies, and . . . I have another company called Level 7 that is a music and technology-based company, and people will start hearing about that in the next couple of years, but that’s been also a lot of work too, building that, recruiting people for that type of thing too. So it’s been a lot of work too. But, it’s interesting, because somehow I figured out how to do it all. I don’t know exactly when it happened, but I spend more time with all my kids than I ever have. I’ve been married for, I’ve been with my wife for a little over two years. I got divorced a couple years ago, but it was interesting because I spend more time with everybody now. Like, I spend more time with my band, I spend more time with my wife, spend more time with my kids, and I spend more time working than I ever have.

RB: You just figured out the balance?

CB: It’s really weird, dude, I don’t know when it clicked, but it somehow all the gears just kind of. . .

RB: It’s a good thing.

CB: (Laughing) I’m not gonna be able to write any kind of self-help book, tell anybody else how to do it though. . .

RB: So I asked Sean and Thora to give me a good Chester story, like a funny story, and they told me about the RJ Reynolds show.

CB: Oh, dude, that was awesome!

RB: And that was an amazing story, so I wanted to ask you if you had a good, funny Sean and Thora story or. . .

CB: Well, Thora’s pretty awesome when we uh, we throw parties for Club Tattoo every year. We started about four years ago, right after started expanding into multiple shops. We decided our clients were kicking ass, and they gave us a lot of things to be thankful for, so let’s throw a party and invite them all. And so we started doing that every year, and it kind of escalated into this party everybody looks forward to every year, and we have bands come out. Thora freaks out, dude. From the second we start, dude, she’s on a thousand miles an hour. And she’s nervous, and she’s sweating and she doesn’t know how to, she’s like, “How do you talk to all these people?” and it’s kind of funny. And every year I have to take her aside, and kind of calm her down and tell her to chill out, and it’s all cool, and to just have a good time, and she doesn’t have to – cuz she wants to be sure everybody’s having a good time, and, you know, when there’s 4,000 people there, that can be quite a hectic position to put yourself in. It’s like, “Dude, relax, and just enjoy the party.” But it’s pretty awesome. I guess it’s something that you might have to see, in order to appreciate, but nervous breakdowns are pretty spectacular. Cuz she doesn’t do that, she holds things together pretty well, most of the time. And Sean, dude, there are so many Sean stories I have . . . there was this one time when we were in Grey Daze. And we drove out and we were doing some shows and a photo shoot. Photo shoot and a show, out in San Diego. We might not have done a show during this time. But we went out and did this photo shoot and we ended up staying overnight, and I had been married to my ex-wife, and it was a pretty fresh marriage. And so I’d just gotten into, you know, cuddling with someone, you know what I mean? And we had to share a bed. And so Sean and I were in the same bed. And Sean had really long hair, like really long hair, like down-to-his-ass long, and so I woke up in the morning, and I was like this around Sean. (Demonstrates cuddling.) And he was like, “What the fuck are you doing, dude?!” I was like, “Uhhh, nothing!”

RB: Yeah, how do you come out of that one?

CB: You just kind of like that, “Uhhh, nothing!”

RB: And move on?

CB: Yeah, you kind of hope that the flashlight wasn’t hanging out of your pants or anything like that, but, it was pretty embarrassing, dude. That was a good Sean story. I wish I could think of a better one. . .

RB: That’s like that scene in Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

CB: The “dirty pillow” scene? Yeah, it was pretty similar. It was our own little “dirty pillow.” Dude, there’s so many stories, most of them are incriminating, so I won’t go into them. (Laughs.)

RB: Fair enough. I read somewhere that I guess, Sean or someone was saying that grips of people come here to get the same tattoos as you, like on your wrists. . .

CB: (Laughs) Yeah. . .

RB: I was just wondering how you felt about that, is it flattering?

CB: Well, imitation is one of the greatest forms of flattery; it’s a compliment. But at the same time, there’s a lot of people with flames on their wrists, it’s not like I was the first dude to get fire on my arms. But I specifically got, like, I went to this dude, who was really good at the hot rod thing, and I was like, just make them unique and really cool so they don’t look like little flames or tribal thing. He was like, “Alright, dude, I’ve been working on this new one!” And he actually had been working on this new flame style, and he’s like, “I’m gonna do it!” so he drew them on, and I was like, “Awesome!” And I loved how they were really long and kind of flickering up my arm, and it didn’t really look like the typical flames, and that’s what I liked about it. So, when I see kids come up and say, “Dude, I got your flames!” I’m just like, “Aaaah!” Now they’re not mine anymore, now they’re like somebody else’s. But, you know, that’s part of the tattoo world too, you’re gonna see something that you like and you’re gonna go, “Dude, I like this. I want that.” You know? But, it’s cool, dude, no one’ll ever have exactly what I got. That’s kind of dope.

RB: And this is where you walked in, before, I was asking Sean and Thora, what was your first tattoo, what’s your favorite, and if you have any that you regret or sort of laugh about?

CB: My first tattoo encompasses two of those things. My first tattoo I got when I was 18, and there was a girl here that worked here, and I thought she was just smokin’ hot. She had this rock-hard body, and tatted from her neck all the way down to her feet; like almost every inch of her body was tattooed. And I thought she was a goddess, so I was like, “I want her to tattoo me.” So she did this tattoo over here; it’s Pisces. I was like, “I want Pisces like this,” and then she drew a quarter sleeve on. It goes from here all the way up to here. It’s kind of crazy. So I was like, “Alright.” And I did it, sat there for five hours and got the outline done-- which is a really long time, by the way, to get an outline done. And she had a really heavy hand; it was not the best experience. And she drew these little alien faces--let me see if I can pull my sleeve up. She drew these little alien faces on the fish, you see that? It’s like, it’s kinda, it looks like a girl did it, right?

RB: Uh huh. . .

CB: Yeah. So, needless to say, I was stoked cuz I felt like I was tougher or something, I got it done, but it’s not a tough tattoo, you know? And then she bailed, she didn’t finish it, cuz she just did the outline and bailed, I paid her for the whole thing, and so eventually--Sean’s cousin works here and he ended up coloring it in for me. It was just. . . it was a nightmare.

RB: So that was the first and the regrettable?

CB: And the most regrettable.

RB: And then how about your favorite?

CB: It’s kind of hard to say, cuz my back piece is probably the most involved and there’s so much of it that I love. But I think I like my elbows the best. I love the, it’s more of a traditional piece, but it’s kind of done in a non-traditional way, which I really like about it. And my pirate. I think the detail on his face is just amazing. But, ever since this tattoo, I’ve kind of made it a point not to get tattoos that suck in my mind. You know, other people can think that they suck, but like, I drew the koi on this arm, which was kind of a special thing. I was pretty proud of myself that I drew it. I’ve got the Hybrid Theory tat, cover here. I have a dragon on this side that’s pretty dope, and my back piece, I just think it’s . . . I love it, it’s cool. And I have this crest across my chest that has my initials, my wife’s initials and the initials of my boys underneath it. And it’s right over my heart; I think that one’s my most sentimental piece. I love it. It’s really simple, there’s not any color; it’s just black and greys. It means a lot to me. . .

RB: Right on. . .This is the last question. Other than all these other projects that you’re doing, the bands, the clothing, and the Club Tattoo, the Linkin Park. . . what are you kind of into that maybe people don’t know about? Or, maybe in the future, when all this stuff’s over, is there something that you want to accomplish? Like Sean said he wanted to be a pilot . . .

CB: Yeah. . . I’m working on this company called Level 7 and our goal is to completely change the way the music industry is run. And I can’t really--I wish I could tell you more about it, but I can’t. My goal, I’ve accomplished everything I’ve ever wanted, more than I ever could have dreamed of accomplishing with Linkin Park, you know? And we do things that just blow my mind. But I want to contribute; I want to be known as someone who contributed in a positive way to everybody in the business, that helped to give artists control of their careers back. And put the power back into the hands of the fans and the hands of the artists, rather than in the hands of some fucking dude who doesn’t even know how to write a song. I think the people who really make the business possible, the artists and the fans are the ones that are taken for granted the most. And I really want to try and help that, and try to change that, and hopefully with what we’re doing with Level 7, we’ll be able to accomplish that.

Club Tattoo's Chester Bennington Interview - Part 3
http://etnies.com/blog/2008/01/31/cl...nterview-pt-3/

RB: Это прям как сцена в Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

Bucket Of Weenies Live Guide - 17.10.2005

Albuquerque, New Mexico
Desert Sands Motor Hotel
17th October 2005

Setlist unknown (6 songs)

Show Notes:
- About six songs into the set, Chester made a sarcastic comment about lung cancer and liver disease, and the band was kicked off stage and then kicked off an entire Camel Cigarettes Tour. Bucket Of Weenies was going to play all of the company's parties around the United States, but got booted! Hilarious!

- From Tyler Fyre's review: "The show is a lot of fun – the crowd is liquored up and having a blast – and they’ve gone all out with entertainment – bringing out the Albuquerque Roller Girls, a casino, a whole gang of gorgeous go-go girls in lingerie, Grindergirl, Black Maria, and Bucket of Weenies – a compilation band of killer musicians featuring Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), Mike Brown (TSOL), Sean Dowdell (Grey Daze), Ryan Shuck (Orgy), and Mike Rouse (The Johns). They get into a fight with the audience because somebody threw a piece of ice at them and then start dissing Camel – always a good move when you’ve just been paid $20,000 to perform."

Chester's tattoos
"My favorite piece, which is the flames, was done by a good friend of mine named Jeff Tilman who owns a shop in California called Tattoo Deluxe. The inspiration for the flames coincides with my upper arms which are based on fish and ocean creatures and represents my sign Pisces. I was born on March 20th which is the cusp of Aries, a fire sign, so they symbolize both sides of my personality, fire and water."

"The coy fish [Japanese Koi carp] on my upper right arm is by my friend Wookie who works at Club Tattoo in Tempe, Arizona. It's an original that I drew."

"My first piece ever was the sleeve of my left arm, which is my Pisces. That was an original piece done by Jody at the same shop in Arizona."

"The ring finger on my left hand, which is my engagement band, was done by a friend named Derrick and was designed by my wife. She also has the same tattoo. The reason we have those is because I was too poor to purchase a ring. I had a good friend who owned a tattoo shop so I got these for free which was pretty cool."

"The pinkie on my right hand is my birth stone in a gold ring, that's the birth stone for March and was given to me as a gift on my birthday, my 21st I think."

"My back piece was also done by Derrick in Arizona and it's his interpretation of me on stage. He claimed that I have an overwhelming power to take over the audience and pull them in and he thought that I needed more then two arms to do that so he gave me six more."

"The piece on my calf was done by a gentleman named Dee who works at a shop in Jacksonville, Florida. I don't know the name of the shop, but he's an amazing artist and a very cool guy. He's become a good friend and did this piece for free..it was done on a whim and it's the only tattoo I've had done on a whim, but it's turned out to be one of my favorite pieces. It was done in the dressing room of the Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida."

"I was born in the year of the dragon so I have a dragon on my right calf."
(Samantha has the same tattoo on her back)

"I made a bet with Jeff Tilman that if we went platinum he had to do Linkin Park in old English across my lower back for free and we just went platinum."

In his own words

First childhood memory
"Apparently it was when I was only 18 months old - which is very unusual I know - and it was the lights from the casinos as we drove through Las Vegas. I remember telling a relative that I saw the cowboy and my parents were like, 'how can you possibly remember that - you were a baby?' I've been back to Las Vegas since but I've never been back to the same strip."
Upbringing
"I was an ambivalent kid. I floated around, coasted through. I have two sisters and a brother and we're all half sisters and brothers from my parents' first marriages. It's interesting because none of us look alike. We have blonde hair, red hair, brown hair and we come in all shapes and sizes. We were a real good family until my parents split when I was 11. It really traumatized me only I didn't realize that until way after. By the time I was 14, I was into heavy drugs. At the same time, I discovered I wanted to be a musician."

High School
"School was interesting; in one hand I was nerdy and geeky but again I had friends who were part of the different cliques. I was never invited to parties directly but I always ended up at them because I came with the people who were wanted. I used to be a good student and an obedient kid but after the divorce, I couldn't care less what I did or what the consequences were."
"I've always been a good student and a person who grasps new things easily so homework was pointless because I understood it already. So I failed classes but they couldn't throw me out because my tests were perfect. The teachers actually hated me."

College
"I got on the bus and went straight to Arizona State University. I never enrolled because I couldn't afford it but since classes were held with 200-500 people in there - except for advanced philosophy, where there were 10 people - I got away with it. I think the philosophy guy knew, but he turned a blind eye because he enjoyed my presence."

Sexual Abuse
"No one in my family molested me. It was people who were around me. Coming from a broken home, it was easy to fall into thinking, "This is OK."

Drugs
"I was a lot more confident when I was high. I felt like I had more control over my environment when I was on hallucinogens or drinking."

Tattoos
"Tattoos are permanent and a life long commitment, the same as marriage. I figure if I'm gonna make a life long commitment with a person then I need to respect their boundaries. I've actually discussed every piece I've had done except the first because that was done before I met her [Samantha]. I'd definitely recommend tattoos for everyone, but just respect yourself and respect the idea of what you're doing to yourself."

Performing
"People who see me perform have one view. The thing I am on stage is all the elements that I don't like about myself. I'm angry, aggressive, and surly and I wouldn't give a second thought about spitting in your face on stage, but in the real world I wouldn't even dream of that. If I don't get an applause then I'm crushed."

Meaning behind 'Linkin Park'
"There's a Lincoln Park in every city in America. There's no real meaning behind our name. We just changed the spelling so that we could afford to buy the web domain name."

Connecting with the audience
"The most important thing to me is definitely connecting with people. Hopefully, the lyrics I write and the songs that I write will inspire people to do something or make them feel better or something. I think that if that happens, I have succeeded."

Designing clothes for Replicant
"So now I draw, design and make my own clothes, I'm not just purchasing it from a manufacturer and putting my name on it and selling it - I'm creating, like a painter or whatever, it's just another side of something I do, but fortunately I make money on it."

Religion
"I'm not a God-fearing Christain and certainly don't preach to people about what they should or shouldn't do. I definitely believe that there is somebody out there who put all this shit together. Something doesn't come from nothing, and that's a philosophical fact. I definitely think that I got a lot of strength from just believing in something, and it didn't really matter what it was."

Writing
"We definitely draw from experiences when we write, but when you actually listen, I can be singing a line or a verse and people will assume that it's me writing it and it could very well be Mike's lyric."

Violence in lyrics
"It's ridiculous to think that someone could hear lyrics to a song and take those lyrics to a level of violence. I think that if that person is going to act that way, they're going to do that without the music. There is obviously something that happened to that kid in his life that affected him a lot deeper than our lyrics."

Fans
"The kids who have the balls to hang out, I'm going to make sure they have their stuff signed, because that takes guts."
"We try to meet as many fans as possible. If we could meet everyone at the venue, that would be great, but sometimes it's impossible. I hope that they walk away thoroughly enjoying the band. And just become fans and enjoy the music that we make."

Rockstar Status
"I always wanted to be a rock star. That was my childhood dream. That's what I told everybody I was going to be when I grew up."
"It's really weird for me to be considered a rock star - I call myself Chester. People tell me that I am one, so I guess that makes me one. From an outside perspective, that's really cool and stuff, but it's really weird for me."

Singing
"This kid who was at our show a couple of days ago was asking me what effects I ran my vocals through. I was like, 'No dude, I don't do any of that shit! If I fuck up, you'll hear it'."

Chester on Chester
"I'm just a regular guy, you know. There's no leotard and cape under my clothes. I shit, I piss, I drink too much and throw up, just like everybody else."

I agree...I wouldn't want people talking about my being abused in a forum...:( But I will tell you guys this opinion of mine quickly to answer your questions...

Replying to the question why where a shirt reading Chester the Molester - its because a lot of people who were abused tend to have more of a sense of humor about it...well, its hard to explain but i'm that way. It's really hard to explain actually...but it's kind of like you know that you being molested (or any other kind of abused) was wrong, but you still have a sort of misunderstanding for what IS RIGHT, so that's probably another reason why he moons people. Did that make any sense? Another example is me, I tend to joke sometimes if there are fist fights at my school instead of saying "Oh my gosh thats terrible" like others - its just cuz I've been physically abused and stuff. I mean its hard to understand unless you go through it -- none of my friends get my jokes so I dunno. But anyways if you understood any of that, that would be my guess why.

Was that alright to say since it was my opinion??

Needless to say he's moved on as much as it is possible to, which to me is really admirable.

"I don't think you should ever be ashamed or afraid of who you are, or anything that's happened to you. Life is good, man. You can either feel like a victim all the time, or you can get off your ass and do what you want to do." --Chester

Linkin Park Singer's Stalker Sentenced

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) -- A woman who stalked Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison for using her work computer at Sandia National Laboratories to track and harass him and his wife.

Devon Townsend has 60 days to surrender to a minimum-security prison in Phoenix, where she is expected to receive mental health care. She had pleaded guilty to stalking and other counts.

Townsend, who worked in Sandia's technology and manufacturing group, used lab computers to illegally access private information about Bennington and his wife, Talinda, in 2006.

According to a plea agreement, Townsend said she obtained family photos, monitored voice messages and traveled to Arizona to meet Bennington, using information she learned about his travel plans. She also obtained correspondence between Warner Bros. Records and Linkin Park's business attorney, including a copy of a check made to Bennington from the record company and a copy of the band's recording contract.

Investigators said Townsend also hacked into the e-mail of Bennington's wife and at one point called the former Playboy model and threatened her.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—A former Sandia National Laboratories worker who admitted to using her computer to track and harass Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington has been sentenced to 24 months in federal prison.

Devon Townsend declined to comment Wednesday before appearing before U.S. District Judge William "Chip" Johnson. She has 60 days to surrender to a minimum security prison in Phoenix where she is expected to receive mental health care.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Fred Federici said he was pleased with the judge's decision.

"Judge Johnson sent a clear message that if you stalk somebody, if you torment somebody, if you terrorize somebody, then you're going to pay the price, and that price is time in federal prison," he said.

Townsend had pleaded guilty to charges of stalking, unlawful access to stored communications and unauthorized fixation of and trafficking in sound recordings of live musical performances.

She had faced up to five years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 for each count.

Townsend, who worked in Sandia's technology and manufacturing group, used lab computers to illegally access private information about Bennington and his wife, Talinda, from January 2006 to November

2006.

According to a plea agreement, Townsend said she was able to access family photos, information about a new home purchased by the Benningtons, the couple's travel plans and correspondence between Warner Brothers Records and Linkin Park's business attorney—including a copy of a check made to Bennington from the record company and a copy of the band's recording contract.

Townsend also accessed the couple's cell phone accounts online and downloaded digital phone pictures and monitored voice messages.

"On at least one occasion, knowing that Chester Bennington was in Arizona, I traveled to Arizona solely for the purpose of trying to see him," Townsend said in the plea agreement. "While I was there, I monitored Chester Bennington's voice mails as a means of trying to locate where he might be eating dinner or lunch."

Investigators said Townsend also hacked into the e-mail of Bennington's wife and at one point called the former Playboy model and threatened her.

Court documents also said investigators searched Townsend's home in Albuquerque and found Linkin Park posters, autographed band memorabilia, pictures of Townsend with Chester Bennington, bootlegged Linkin Park music and copies of messages and photographs intercepted from the Bennington family's e-mail accounts.

Hey Everyone in El Paso and Alberqurque ! I wanted to let everyone
know how bummed I am that I am not well enough to play these shows.
I've been sick many times and been able to perform, but this has been
particularly hard on my voice and lungs. I am doing everything I can to
get better ASAP, and will hopefully be back and ready to go for the
Staples Center show. I also would like to thank everyone in Oklahoma
City for being so amazingly awesome during my not so awesome
performance there. I have never felt so much love from a crowd in my
life. I wasn't sure if we were gonna make it through that show, but
the crowd really carried us through it. LP has the best fans in the
world. Thanks for everything..............C

Personal Quotes

Chester on high school: "I was a geek who thought I was cool. I didn't hang out with a particular clique, but with different people from different cliques. I was a total nerd, trying to fit in. Luckily, I found music and that was my niche. That sorta took me out of my geekdom. I was never invited to parties as a teenager - I turned up with the popular people. That's where the lyrics to 'Guilty By Association' came from."

BOW on mtv.com, story inside!

Chester Bennington's house might have been the place to trick-or-treat this year, at least if you had any interest in the Linkin Park singer's top-secret side projects.

"I was thinking of making candies and giving them to kids, and then when they eat them, it downloads [the albums] into their brains." — Linkin Park's Chester Bennington

them out to little kids, and then when they eat them, it downloads [the albums] into their brains," Bennington deadpanned. "If anybody out there actually has the talent to create that technology, give me a call."

And if not, at least Bennington is finally talking about his outside efforts, Snow White Tan and Julien-K, both with Orgy guitarists Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh, as well as cover band Bucket of Weenies, whose Hollywood debut was October 25 at the Avalon.

In fact, it was hard to get Bennington to shut up about the latter, a much less serious band with no plans to record. When he did, however, he revealed a bit about the other two bands. It seems Bennington sings for Snow White Tan, while Shuck handles vocals for Julien-K, an electro band. (Bucket of Weenies features Bennington, Shuck, guitarist Mike Rouse of the Johns, bassist Mike "Cheez" Brown of T.S.O.L. and drummer Sean Dowdell of Bennington's pre-Linkin Park band, Grey Daze.)

"We've been working for a long time on these projects, and they're really interesting and different," Bennington said. "I don't know if I want to let too much of the cat out of the bag at this point, but when the time is right I think people are really gonna enjoy what we've been doing, and hopefully it kind of adds a new flavor to the music scene."

Like Linkin Park MC Mike Shinoda's Fort Minor, which is pure hip-hop (see "Linkin Park MC Gets Director With Flair For Video With Flares"), Snow White Tan and Julien-K are much different than Linkin Park. "It's not done purposely," Bennington said. "It's just that way, it's just naturally different."

Shuck, who met Bennington when Linkin Park were recording their first album at the same studio where Orgy were working, said some of the Snow White Tan material dates back five or six years.

"I always used to go to his house and hear him play acoustic guitar," Shuck said. "And I always thought to myself, 'Oh my God, these are such good songs.' "

Both the Snow White Tan and Julien-K albums are nearly complete, but the guys want to properly release and promote both the projects, which is where the scheduling issue comes into play.

"Timing is everything, and because of the kind of lives that we have, with so many different things going on, we have to really make sure that it's the appropriate time," Bennington said.

"By the time it actually comes out, we're gonna have probably three or four records' worth of material to release," he said. "But we'll see."

In the meantime, Bennington and Shuck are having the time of their lives with Bucket of Weenies, who put a punk or hard-rock spin on a variety of covers, including Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds," Oasis' "Wonderwall" and Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game." At the Avalon, the band also played Snow White Tan's "The Morning After" and a few Brown originals.

Bucket of Weenies formed last spring to play a Tempe, Arizona, show celebrating the 10th anniversary of Bennington, Brown and Dowdell's Club Tattoo chain.

"What was gonna be a small thing turned out to be 6,000 people, and we had a ton of fun," Brown said. "And then we thought, 'Let's keep playing.' "

"It's really kinda cool 'cause we play like, not the typical stuff — it's not 'Smells Like Teen Spirit,' " Bennington said. "We're doing tracks that I think are songs that when you listen to them you go, 'Wow that's a really cool song.' "

The band apparently built its set list while jamming in Shuck's basement, yelling out songs and seeing if they could figure out how to play them.

"We're all over the map," Rouse said. "We've got Dramarama, we've got the Cure, we've got Bowie, just kind of like a collective sort of what we all listened to growing up and kind of got us to where we're at now. And we're having fun re-exploring it."

As for the name Bucket of Weenies, Shuck came up with it during a live radio interview in Tempe.

"It's just when you're partying and all your friends are, like, pulling their shirts off and you're just like, 'What a bucket of weenies,' " he explained.

"It was fantastic and stuck," said Bennington, who noted that the initials spell "bow." "Join the BOW movement!"

Club Tattoo 11th Anniversary
BUCKET OF WEENIES SHOW

Club Tattoo co-founder Sean Dowdell states, “These parties have become legendary over the years and this year will be no exception!”

“Being able to celebrate our 13th year with Club Tattoo is amazing,” adds Chester Bennington, Club Tattoo co-founder and special anniversary guest performer. “These parties have always been special to us and we’ve always enjoyed being able to have great artists and fans come out to help us celebrate. This year’s line up is amazing, and they’re going to bring it harder than ever before!”

Sean Dowdell founded Club Tattoo in 1995 with friend Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, who aided in the original concept and design behind the popular chain. The friendship dates back to when the duo played in the Phoenix based band Grey Daze, which was a pre-cursor to Chester's current position with Linkin Park. Club Tattoo has expanded into four locations in Arizona, and has become world renowned for its artistry and professionalism of talented tattoo artists, body piercers, and support staff. It boasts the largest collection of body jewelry in the Southwest United States and has a full clothing store dedicated to the "tattooed soul.”

Their artists have won over 80 international awards and have been featured in 18 worldwide-distributed publications. Most recently, Club Tattoo has expanded its apparel interests and created a men’s premium clothing line called Ve’cel, which is one of the fastest growing men’s lines. Additionally, Club Tattoo teamed up with Etnies in 2007 to release custom tattoo design shoes created by Club Tattoo artists. 2009 will see the Club Tattoo chain expand even further, with a Club Tattoo studio on the Las Vegas strip in the newly created Cosmopolitan Hotel.

Rabbit in the Moon have continued to be one of the most exciting live performers in the electronic music scene for over a decade. Julien-K is the brainchild of founding Orgy (“Blue Monday,” “Stiches”) members Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck. Fusing the elements of dark electronic club music with styles of modern rock & pop, Julien-K are at the forefront of the electronic music scene. They recently toured with Linkin Park on the 2007 Projekt Revolution Tour and Evanescence, winning over audiences around the country.

Jeremy Dawson, founding member of Shiny Toy Guns (“Le Disko”) has been steadily establishing himself as one of the countries premier DJ’s. When not performing with STG, Jeremy is a highly sought after DJ spinning at many of the premier nightclubs in America.

Hey everyone what's up? It's been awhile since I've posted anything so
i wanted to keep you in the loop. On May 10 we at Club Tattoo are
celebrating our 13th anniversary. Julien K will be performing as well
as Rabbit in the Moon. There will also be some of the dopest DJ's
around spinning. It's going to be awesome as always. But, the big
surprise is that I will be performing Dead by Sunrise music live for
the first time in front of an audience. We have been practicing and
promise to kick ass. Maybe I'll record the performance and put it out
there for everyone so you won't have to rely on someone's phone mix. I
look forward to hearing feedback from those who care to watch and
listen, It's important for me to know that I'm giving all of you what
you want. Talk to you soon...........................C

Будут выступать Julien K и Rabbit in the Moon. С

Hi Chester! More greetings from Russia! And I wonder why you ask if record your show or not ))) Why do you doubt? The only reason I can imagine that your own songs are unlike LP ones and some fans dont like the music that differs from LP @@ Well it's their own business - to limit their circle of impressions ;)

CHESTER BENNINGTON PICKS
Best Festival: Summer Sonic

Chester picks Japan's Summer Sonic Festival as the Best Festival from Rolling Stone's Best of Rock 2008

The problem with U.S. festivals is that they have mostly American and British groups, so you're not getting a real glimpse of what's out there. But at Summer Sonic in Japan, they have a bunch of international acts, all playing at this outdoor stadium that's broken up into indoor arenas of different sizes.
