Сегодня, кстати, годовщина:

Secret LPU Show in Burbank last night
Posted on 30 May 2008 by Siby
A short but sweet 5 track set exclusively for 14 LPUers.
Setlist:
01. Wake
02. Given Up
03. Lying From You
04. Leave Out All The Rest
05. We Made It
Notes:
- This was a "Secret Show", and was by invitation only. The location of the show was the band's rehearsal spot at Third Encore. Mike said that this was the first time ever that any fans had ever been let into the band's rehearsal studio. One member reports one entire wall inside being lined with Brad's guitars.
- The show was filmed for LPTV and pictures will be on the LPU soon.
- Only 14 LPUnderground members were in attendance for the show. They were blindfolded and taken from the Warner Bros HQ in Burbank to Third Encore.
- It was announced that Busta Rhymes would join LP on the Projekt Revolution tour
- Chris Cornell and Atreyu were in attendance. This possibly hints that Chester will join Chris Cornell for a song during his set on Projekt Revolution 2008.
- One member snagged a setlist titled 'Setlist Y' from the European Tour that is coming up, and in the encore is 'No Roads Left'. 'A Place For My Head' is also included.

ATREYU GRADUATES TO REVOLUTION STAGE HEADLINER
http://youtube.com/watch?v=lRpk4HOMaXA
We caught up with Alex Varkatzas of Atreyu who is seated with Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park and Busta Rhymes to get his thoughts on headlining The Revolution Stage.
"(Shinoda) Yeah, we call it The Revolution Stage." "(Varkatzas) Call it by it's right name!" "(Cornell) What Stage am I on?" "(Bennington) We still call that one the main stage." "(Cornell) That's the problem and that's the onflict..." "(Varkatzas) The Big Dog Stage" "(Cornell)...it implies that the other one is not." "(Varkatzas) The Projekt Stage. We're so excited to even be playing..." "(Cornell) You're in headline land." "(Varkatzas) I made it. I f**kin' made it. We never headlined a Projekt Stage or Revolution stage before, so it's going to be revolutionary."

2. SOUNDBITE (English) Chester Bennington, Linkin Park Lead Vocalist:
"When we play with Metallica, I love Metallica. They have amazing fans. But you know, you have to earn your place if you want to play with those guys. And not from the band, because those guys are really cool guys. But it's difficult to play in front of people who have their backs turned to you and their fingers up in the air. And hopefully they turn around by the time you're done. But with Linkin Park fans, our fans are really open-minded to a lot of different things. They're kind of excited that Busta Rhymes is out, they're excited that Snoop Dogg is out. They're excited that we're on tour with Korn or Chris Cornell. And that's something that we receive from the Chris Cornell fans that have followed him for as many years as he's been around."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Busta Rhymes, Rapper:
"When I get the opportunity to do something, I already know, I'm a respectable competitor. I like to respectfully compete. When I'm around greatness, it makes my show better. When I saw them performing just a little while ago, I'm scratching my arm like a dope fiend. I'm ready to get my fix. Let me get out there and go. It's just inspiring to feed off other great contributions to the grand scheme of this music. So me being able to have a platform like this that's provided for me to be able to go out there, share what I know, bring what I have to offer to the table, and learn from it and sponge up as much as I can being that I've never had the opportunity to be in this setting where I can rock with Linkin Park and the greatness of all of the other groups that are going to be in this line up. It's just going to be something that I can take from that and be able to bring it back to hip-hop. And help grow hip-hop."

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Mike Shinoda, Linkin Park Producer and Co-Lead Vocalist:
"As this tour has evolved over the years, we've started to consider ourselves kind of like hosts. It's like we've created this thing we do every summer, and apart from the things that we can bring as a tour to the fans, and make that unique or hopefully a unique experience for the fans, we want it to be unique for the groups that come on and perform. We want it to be organised, we want them to have a good time, to eat well, to know where stuff is."

Los Angeles, 29 May 2008
8. SOUNDBITE (English) Chris Cornell, Singer-songwriter:
"For me, a lot of it also is repetition. I've been in situations where I see too much rehearsal, the band starts to play worse. You play a song more than 100 times, it sounds like you learned it two days ago, and it's awful."

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Busta Rhymes, Rapper:
"As much as you all were hearing that I wasn't going to be there, I think ten times more than that, I was fighting to be here. So at the end of the day, this whole thing coming together, this was one of those answered prayers. Thank you very much, brother. Real talk."
(Mike Shinoda, Linkin Park Co-Lead Vocalist:)
"Hence the album title, once again."
(Busta Rhymes, Rapper:)
"Blessed. Yes indeed."
(Mike Shinoda, Linkin Park Co-Lead Vocalist:)
"He's the most grateful man in the music industry. It's like every time I run into Busta, he's celebrating any kind of victory. Small or large victory. This guy is appreciative of everything. It's like 'Busta, there's some food over here. Do you want to have some breakfast?' He's like ' free food, thank you very much. This is fantastic.'"

LINKIN PARK TEAM WITH BUSTA RHYMES FOR SUMMER TOUR
Linkin Park is teaming up with rapper Busta Rhymes and veteran rocker Chris Cornell for their fifth summer concert tour - and they all sat down with AP Television to talk about it.
The LA band's lead vocalist Chester Bennington said he's happy to play alongside people like Cornell, whose fans are open to Linkin Park's hybrid of musical styles.
"I love Metallica, they have amazing fans. But you know, you have to earn your place if you want to play with those guys. And not from the band, because those guys are really cool guys. But it's difficult to play in front of people who have their backs turned to you and their fingers up in the air," Bennington told AP Television.
"But with Linkin Park fans, our fans are really open-minded to a lot of different things. They're kind of excited that Busta Rhymes is out, they're excited that Snoop Dogg is out. They excited that we're on tour with Korn or Chris Cornell. And that's something that we receive from the Chris Cornell fans that have followed him for as many years as he's been around," he added.
Rapper Busta Rhymes was a late addition to the concert line up.
He's been out of the public eye for a few months after facing felony charges revolving around a New York assault, but has assembled a new CD set for release next month.
The rapper said the Projekt Revolution tour would bring out the best in him.
"When I get the opportunity to do something, I already know, I'm a respectable competitor," he noted.
"I've never had the opportunity to be in this setting where I can rock with Linkin Park and the greatness of all of the other groups that's going to be in this line up. It's just going to be something that I can take from that and be able to bring it back to hip-hop. And help grow hip-hop," he said.
Mike Shinoda, Linkin Park's lead producer and co-lead vocalist, said he wants to make the nine other bands playing alongside them feel at home.
The tour launches July 16 at the Tweeter Centre in Boston and includes a deal for Linkin Park fan club members that will delete ticket service charge fees for a limited time.
The tour wraps up in Houston, Texas on Aug. 24.
Chris Cornell is now recording his next album with Timbaland, but says he's worried about playing certain songs too many times on tour.
"For me, a lot of it also is repetition," Cornell said. "I've been in situations where I see too much rehearsal, the band starts to play worse. You play a song more than 100 times, it sounds like you learned it two days ago, and it's awful."
Busta Rhymes said he was grateful for his last minute-addition to the line up.
"As much as ya'll were hearing that I wasn't going to be there, I think ten times more than that, I was fighting to be here," Rhymes said. "So at the end of the day, this whole thing coming together, this was one of those answered prayers. Thank you very much, brother. Real talk."
Shinoda added: "He's the most grateful man in the music industry. It's like every time I run into Busta, he's celebrating any kind of victory. Small or large victory. This guy is appreciative of everything. It's like 'Busta, there's some food over here. Do you want to have some breakfast?' He's like ' free food, thank you very much. This is fantastic.'"
The Projekt Revolution line up also includes the bands Atreyu, The Bravery, Ashes Divide, 10 Years, Hawthorne Heights, Armor for Sleep and Street Drum Corps.

to all the swedish fans: we are extremely sorry about the cancellation of the show tonight. we all sincerely wanted to come and play for you, but our boy brad is sick. this afternoon, the doctor ordered that brad not travel, so the show became an impossibility. we were obviously very disappointed and frustrated. we rarely cancel, and i know this is the second time we’ve had to cancel playing there. the band feels very bad about this uncontrollable situation, and hope to make it up to you as soon as we can…

Linkin Park tell how Busta Rhymes invited himself along for PR 2008
June 20
MTV
Linkin Park weren't sure they'd be able to top last year's Projekt Revolution tour, but with a lineup that includes veteran rap and rock performers Busta Rhymes and Chris Cornell, as well as the Bravery and Ashes Divide, this year's bill may prove to be their most eclectic yet.
"We just pick groups that we think would be a good match together," Linkin Park MC Mike Shinoda said of the tour, which will hit 24 cities, kicking off July 16 in Mansfield, Massachusetts, and wrapping up August 24 in The Woodlands, Texas. "We want to create a bill that we think we'd enjoy seeing this summer."
After collaborating with Linkin Park on "We Made It," the first single off his eighth album, Blessed, Busta Rhymes was determined to join them on tour.
"Apparently, Busta was telling people, 'You don't understand, I'm going to be on that tour; you need to get me on that tour,' " Shinoda recalled. "I was saying to our touring committee ... with the single, it would be really great to do at least some shows with Busta."
Rhymes laughed at his efforts. "I was going hard, though, shamelessly," he said. "I wanted this bad."
"Busta, he's a performer," Shinoda said. "This isn't a DJ on the stage playing records."
With Rhymes and Linkin Park spending so much time together on the tour, are other collaborations on the horizon? "Absolutely. Why not?" Rhymes said. "Make an album, a couple of albums. Make a movie together. You know what I'm saying?"
Cornell decided to join the tour after enjoying his brief time with Linkin Park in Australia last October. "It's not that easy to find bands or artists [that are musically] different from what you do but that you like and your fans are going to like them, and it all makes sense but it's completely different," Cornell explained.
The former Audioslave and Soundgarden frontman described his spontaneous approach to creating a set list. "I sort of decide on the moment what the set list will be and sometimes even when we're onstage -it depends," Cornell said. "The funny part is when I'll forget. There will be a song that everybody loves that everyone expected to hear, and I forgot that song existed."
Cornell may also be debuting material from his recent collaboration with chart-topper Timbaland, who is producing Cornell's third solo album, which is planned for a September release.
"The idea of playing some new material is good," Cornell said. "Not every day is the same for me. Sometimes an audience feels different, so for me it requires a couple of different songs. You never know."
Metal band Atreyu will headline the tour's smaller Revolution stage, where 10 Years, Hawthorne Heights, Armor for Sleep and Street Drum Corps will also play.
"We just kept sending manila envelopes full of $1 bills," Atreyu lead singer Alex Varkatzas joked of how they made the lineup.
Before the U.S. leg of the tour begins, Projekt Revolution will head to Europe for the first time in the tour's five-year history, with a completely different lineup that includes N.E.R.D., the Used, H.I.M., the Blackout, InnerPartySystem and Enter Shikari. After three stops in Germany (June 21, 27, 28), the tour meets up with Jay-Z in Milton Keynes, England, on June 29.
"For some reason, there's an interest in this tour, there's an interest in what it means, and I think that it's translating in other places," Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington said. "We've never showed up to the U.K. and sold 50,000 tickets, but when we say we're doing Projekt Revolution and we have these different bands, all of a sudden it's, like, awesome."
One thing that hasn't changed since last year is Linkin Park's commitment to making the tour "green" by donating $1 from every ticket purchased to help reduce global warming through their charity, Music Relief.
Even after five years of putting this tour together, Linkin Park are excited to hit the road again. "When all the musicians on a tour feel like this is really an opportunity, and we're probably not going to be able to do this again, you're living in that moment, and you're being present with the fact that this is a really special thing we get to do," Bennington said. "It's just like I'm living out a fantasy."

Teenage angst that's musicallyassured
June 23
Independent
LINKIN Park's Wagnerian muddle of rap and heavy metal flies in the face of one of pop's immutable laws: thou shalt never attempt to mix hip-hop and rock and roll.
But they avoid the genre-splicing pitfalls that typically bedevil, and often humiliate, rock bands seeking to channel their inner ghetto superstars.
There are no clumsy stumbles into Ali G pastiche; their hip-hop flow is as assured as their guitars are menacing and clamourous.
It's been seven years since the Los Angeles six piece burst onto the scene with their convention defying 'Hybrid Theory'. Since then they've had to endure a forced hiatus because of a dispute with their label.
More worrying, they've seen the nu-metal scene they helped spawn slide towards self-parody, and then irrelevance (when have you last seen a rebellious juvenile sporting a Limp Bizkit hoodie?) Cannily, Linkin Park have decided a spot of reinvention is in order. Recorded in collaboration with Rick Rubin, the studio svengali who helped rehabilitate both Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond, 'Minutes to Midnight' saw the band embrace a more ambitious sound.
Yet, they initially appear determined to hark back to their original incarnation. Coming on stage to a flutter of Tori Amos-style piano from guitarist Mike Shinoda, the sextet blast through the sturm un drang silliness of 'What I've Done' and the bludgeoning crossover of 'Faint'.
"It's good to be back here," grunts frontman Chester Bennington, in tones usually associated with Bond villains. However, the real star is Shinoda, whose block-rocking rapping slickly counterpoints Bennington's grunge tribute act bellow.
Musically, Linkin Park are far more sophisticated than a group essentially, pitched at teenagers in black t-shirts need be.
Lead guitarist Bradford Delson romps through the a-z of proggy excess while bassist David Farrell's space-rock jams recall avant-garde guitar abusers such as Mogwai.
If grown men must vent their adolescent pain in public, then long may (relative) sophisticates such as Linkin Park lead the charge.

29.06.2008 Milton Keynes, England, National Bowl
Today Linkin Park will be playing in Milton Keynes, England at the National Bowl. This is the 16th show out of the 16 (not including the 2 canceled dates) shows on the Summer European run for the band. It's the last European show! Also playing this show and opening for Linkin Park are Jay-Z, HIM, Enter Shikari, N*E*R*D, Pendulum, The Bravery and Innerpartysystem. This is the 4th Projekt Revolution: Europe show out of 4 overall. The first was in München, the second one was in Berlin, the third one was in Düsseldorf, and this is the 4th and last one.
Setlist-wise, Milton Keynes will be an interesting show because Jay-Z will be joining the band sometime during their set. It's a safe bet that they will base at least portions of the setlist off of Set X (One Step Closer), and then invite Jay-Z on later to perform a few songs from Collision Course. Jay-Z performed two Collision Course tracks last night at his show in Glastonbury - Dirt Off Your Shoulders/Lying From You, and Numb/Encore, both with Linkin Park's parts sampled. We will see what we have in store for this show.
Setlists will be up as soon as possible after the show. Everyone that's going, be sure and write in with your information when you get home!
There will be a DSP (Digital Souvenir Pack) for this show, and it will be the first one of the summer for the band. Expect to see more of those on all the Projekt Revolution 2008 dates. MTV will be broadcasting one full hour of the show live on TV in countries such as Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Hopefully we will see a rip from that soon.
Since this is the last European Tour date, and possibly the last show in Europe that Linkin Park tours for Minutes To Midnight, I thought I'd give you a look into when we will be seeing the band live again. After a two week break, the band will head over to Toronto, ON in Canada to play Edgefest 2008 at Downsview Park on July 12th. On the 13th, they will play the Festival d'été de Québec in Québec City, QC at the Bell Stage on the Plains Of Abraham. After wrapping up these two dates in Canada, the band will head down to Mansfield, MA, where they will start their 24-date Projekt Revolution 2008 Tour in the USA, kicking off at the Tweeter Center For The Performing Arts on July 16th. While the band is on this short break, we will hopefully be able to take care of some minor housecleaning work on the site, and we will come out in full force for Projekt Revolution. I will actually be going to five shows on that tour - Raleigh, Charlotte, West Palm Beach, Tampa, and Atlanta, so if you want to meet me, come on out! See you at the Revolution!

Thanks again alex for this, I'll appreciate it!
But unfortunately someone told the security that we queue jumped and we had to go back all the way to the end of the queue.
I was really upset and scared not to come in the first row, but the guys around us were really friendly, we talked about football and LP and etc.
Me and my friend were waiting about 3 hours to enter the arena, and the other guys bought to much food so they gave us some cookies and others gave my friend beer (i didn't want to drink, so I had not to go the toilet
So finally the gate opend and before entering I saw some of my fellas in front of the LPU meeting point,
we ran to the arena and inside we walked fast to the right side of the stage (yes again directly infront of dave^^)
Innerpartysystem: wtf?
The bravery: two songs were awesome, i even knew the full lyrics of one song(believe)
The Used: awesome
N*E*R*D: unbelievable, those guys are great!
HIM: pah buuh I hate HIM, I didn't even pay attention, I was soo buzy to get water
LINKIN PARK:
Omg they were great!
the stage was far away from us, but I could shoot a lot of good MQ pics (i have them in HQ but i had to resize them so they look even better)
However they played:
01. No More Sorrow
02. Lying From You
03. Somewhere I Belong
04. Wake 2.0
05. Given Up
06. Papercut
07. Points Of Authority
08. In Pieces
09. Numb
10. Pushing Me Away
11. Breaking The Habit
12. Shadow Of The Day
13. Crawling
14. Leave Out All The Rest
15. What I've Done
16. In The End
17. Bleed It Out
18. Cure For The Itch
19. A Place For My Head
20. Faint
21. One Step Closer
Of course i had my I love PHX shirt again with me on the concert, so dave could see it again. I showed it to him and he reconized me..laughed and pointed to me (just like in cologne^^)
One time mike saw it too and laughed so cute^^
here is a pic of me after the cologne show wearing my shirt:
My cam's power died after the 6th song or earlier/later, i was soo fucked up because greg told me so many tipps and the pics I shot looked good on my LCD screen
during in the end, mike was most of the time in front of us, just like in cologne he was right in front of me! maybe i have secret powers to attract mike at in the end?
The mic was right above my head, such a bummer that there are no SBD records
After that he still stood in front of me and I showed my I love PHX shirt again, and he laughed again and asked me, if he could have it!
I just throw it to him and he said in the mic: "Phi-Phi" and showed dave the shirt
then something unbelievable happend:
MIKE WORE THE TSHIRT! MY TSHIRT! I was about to faint, really
and he went to dave, fell down on his knees and showed dave the rock on sign
it was so hilarious and i was screaming because i was soo happy!
then he performed BIO with the shirt
and before rob's drum solo he took it off and hung it on rob's drum kit!
And after the performance dave put his bass on it^^ and mike told the security guy to gimme the shirt back.
awesome!
then for me the whole show was awesome and etc.
